  1. Such a good point to STOP when something odd happens. It saved my brother's bacon once. He was shooting hand-loaded 45 ACP through a Colt Government. One of the rounds went a quiet "pop" and didn't cycle the gun. The range master immediately stopped him and got him to unload & inspect the gun, and it turned out the bullet had stuck in the barrel. Had he tried to fire another round, that would have destroyed the gun and probably wounded him. <edit: Turns out you discuss this exact case as second after I paused to type this comment>
