  1. The microphone has a device called a "limiter/compressor" where the volume is turned down very quickly when it becomes too loud. The Fyoom at the end is when the volume is turned back up as things become quiet again. You may also notice how the volume is cut a few times during the introduction when firing from the shoulder, when someone nearby fires single shots. The limiter cuts out about half a second. After that, you hear the echos and reverberations you would not normally hear through your ear muffs, which are much softer than the actual shots.
