  1. The USA has democratically decided, by vote of Congress, to adopt the Metric system in 1975. But the responsible government body was abolished, undemocratically, by Reagan. Bush then issued an Executive Order that the government must use Metric in 1991. Which shows that Bush the elder was a wiser president than Reagan.

  2. Fun Fact, in 1975 USA Congress adopted the Metric system in the "Metric Conversion Act", signed by president Ford. It was cancelled by Reagan in 1982 because it would be too expensive to replace existing signage. Not to mention that just the crashed mars probe would have paid for that signage many times over. So that's why the USA doesn't use metric: Fuckin' Republicans.
