This is such a blunder for the Russians. The Ukrainians obviously managed to get an artillery round within fifty-or-so meters of the highest general in the field. Why is that general so close to Ukrainian artillery? How did they know his location? If enemy artillery can shoot directly at your overall command post, it is time to beat a hasty retreat, as you are over-extended, all your supplies are sitting ducks, you don't have a route to supply your forward troops, and you are in imminent danger of being overrun should the enemy counter-attack.

Well done, Ukrainians. Time to teach the bullies & war criminals a lesson in true courage and strength.

With luck, he will survive and continue to lead in this glorious attack -- of the Ukrainians.

When all this is over, I hope this man gets a nice apartment in The Netherlands. More specifically, Scheveningen. It used to be called the Oranje Hotel. Radko Mladic also lives there. Until he dies.

Exactly right. They also don't have to explain the body bags and can officially claim low numbers of casualties. But obviously this is terrible for morale, knowing that those that send you to die don't even have the decency to return your body to your parents or sweetheart, so they will never know what happened to you.

Tell that to Putin. Until he withdraws, we need a strong & aggressive response in Ukraine. Mr Putin is badly in need of a bloody nose. And a knee in the private parts. As someone (Tolkien) said: those without swords can still die upon them.

Mr Putin is not long for this world. I hope he makes his peace with God -- after making peace with Ukraine.

Great news. I hear that NATO is also considering offering temporary protection while the applications are being processed.

Well done, Ukraine! Give these bullies a sample of their own medicine.

Dictators tend to eat their own children. If Putin is so good and powerful, let him wage war on his own.

1 in 4, now.

As the lady said, Russian soldiers that cross into Ukraine will stay there as fertilizer. (except those that surrender, obviously)

It is a special fire-fighting operation!

@spec Using tactical nukes would be a major escalation of the conflict. There would be a UN resolution authorizing an international intervention in the war. It would remove all hesistation from the West in getting involved. It would unleash Western Airpower in destoying the Russian armies and hunting down the nuclear troops on Russian soil as "special hunting operations". And Russia will be totally isolated until Putain is surrendered dead or alive to the International court of Justice -- or perhaps to the Ukrainians...
1
@spec You talk very loudly for someone who is loosing a war. Putin always lies, he will be dead before this month is out. Killed by his own people.

Great example of "I am not going to play with you". Well, go ahead then, mope in your bedroom, while we enjoy ourselves.

Colonel Clumsy may be beaten to it by Dr. Clumsy... (referring to the "A different bias" channel who joked that Putin should stand near an open window, next to Colonel Clumsy)

I hope those boys get the message that they are not welcome in Ukraine, and have no reason being there.

This is chilling. But so is the systematic destruction of Ukrainian towns and cities like Mariupol. I believe Zelensky when he expects tens of thousands of civilians to have been murdered there, mostly though artillery barrages. These artillerymen are committing crimes against humanity (genocide, really) that should get them in front of a firing squad.
1
Exactly. While you can argue (at least, some do) about the other reasons for going green, the strategic independence it give is by itself a great reason for it. As Putin is proving right now. But also how oil revenue has been used for two generations to finance Jihad & the spread of Islam. Western oil money has built many a mosque...

I guess Moldova will be the next nation to receive military aid from NATO and EU members...

@jaysallinen3788 Those bio-labs are left-overs from the Soviet era, and are being dismantled with US donations. Sure, Ukraine has its problems. But nothing warranting a violent, genocidal invasion by Russia. If you think that the reasons you mention are justification for murdering tens of thousands of civilians, you need to be locked up in a mental institution.

Good thing about these purges to prevent a coup, is that they tend to backfire. If you start acting out of fear for a coup, that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. A nation can not be built on fear.
1
So? Take it out on Putin, ladies.
1
It will be interesting to see Russian planes hoping to land in Moldova try to fly over Ukrainian or NATO airspace...
