"Corporate welfare" Excellent term! That is what these GQP marks voted for: their money going to the billionaires.

That's the way to treat bullies. Laugh them in the face. Trump has been laughed at far too little, because most people do not have the balls to do it. Biden does.

"I'm voting against Trump he has to go" Not just Trump, also the republican senators that enabled and supported him. They are filth, each and every one of them. If Moscow Mitch had any shred of decency, honor or sense of duty, he would have talked with the Representatives to arrange an expedited impeachment, as soon as the news of Trump knowing about the seriousness of Covid in February came out. #VoteThemOut

Politicians are directly elected by the Voters. And they are subject to the Law. And their party scrutinizes them. That makes for three mechanisms for their removal. SC judges have none of those scrutiny / oversight mechanisms.

@yourdaddy-mq4km Please explain how he is wrong.
4
Make that 99%. Who of you knew that 50 years ago, the USA was far more socialist than now? You know, that era that Repulse-licans long so much for?
4
True. And whenever they are upset about something, it is because they want to distract you from something else that is much more important.

@Aikidoman06 Strange how those "least effective presidents" both caused major economic boosts. Sadly, Carter's recovery started right after he lost the presidency, but it was his effective leadership that caused it. Both Reagan and Trump inherited excellent economic outlooks from their predecessors.
3
The GOP is a cult. They live in a make-believe world. If you propose actions that would get you back to the 50ies and 60ies, they call it communism.
3
Instead, there should be a maximum period by which the Senate must conclude its business. Something like three months. The Senate is holding up decisions by Congress for years because they don't want to pass them nor want to reject them (because the latter would look bad to the voters). So instead, they just hold things up. If they let the deadline pass, the proposal is automatically approved. You know that the President already has a deadline for rejecting a law? For the President, it is 10 working days. If the President must conclude his business in 10 days, the Senate can do theirs in three months.

This is truly sickening. The Republican party has become fascist.
3
THIS is the biggest issue for the USA today. This and climate change. Both need to be addressed urgently.
2
More like "and tell them it is god's blessing".
2
Please, people, realize that every single Republican representative and senator is also working towards project 2025. As we have seen these past 2 years, Republican congresspeople do Trump's bidding. Vote blue all the way.

Wow, this is excellent! America, you need to wake up and ensure that things change! Kick out corruption. Take back your country! As you say, it is an absolute outrage that the richest country in the world is doing so poorly on all scores that say something about the well-being of its citizens. That is not right. Many millions of you are toiling and breaking their backs for those few billionaires. They are not much better off than slaves (perhaps even worse, as slave owners would protect their investment), yet claim you live in the land of the free. That is sad. Stop deluding yourselves. The USA is the land of the greedy and the selfish, and you should be ashamed of yourselves. #represent.us.
1
Excellent point. The fascists claim they want America back as it was in the 50ies, but without doing the things America did in the 50ies. Not that it would work: in the 50ies, most competitors of the US were still rebuilding the enormous damage WW2 did to their infrastructure and businesses. The USA benefited from this absence of competition. Now, however, its competitors are fitter than the USA is.

Capitalism needs a responsible government to protect the weak from extortion. That is the ONLY reason there is a government. To protect the weak. The strong (rich) can look after themselves and don't need a government. US government has failed at its ONLY priority.
1
An excellent video! To do something about this, consider joining the #represent.us movement.

Spot on, Mr Secretary. Trump is the greatest danger the USA has known since the civil war. The ONLY way to fight it is to aggressively confront it in every way possible. DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY THESE GOONS. They are bullies who will bully the USA, and the rest of the world, if it lets them.
1
The triumph of Trumpism is more to blame on lame opposition than on Trump's quality.
1
GQPers only complain about the deficit when it is used to improve the life of all US citizens. You don't hear them when the deficit is used to boost their own bank accounts.
1
USA politics is currently at the same point it was 150 years ago. Relearning the same lessons. The founding fathers are ashamed of what it has become.
1
Republicans are the party of Greed, lawlessness and Selfishness. That is not how America became great.
1
It is a pity that not more Democrats study this stuff.
1
I hope this get written into economics curricula.

Your country is being killed by a thousand cuts -- to education. The single most important factor in the emancipation of the poor & underprivileged is education.

Robert Reich is a very clear thinker. A national asset.

Corruption is not a victim-less crime...
1
Sure, the IRS needs to be funded well. But let them first prioritize auditing the rich.
1
Not re-electing these seditious senators is the least that should be done. They all need to be impeached, indicted, prosecuted and locked up. Sedition can not be tolerated or appeased. Appeasement leads to war. Letting them face the consequences of their actions brings peace. There can be no peace without justice, as the Lord has shown us.

The woke distraction may be one of the biggest. I have a strong suspicion that e.g. Disney has been hired to stoke the "culture wars", by making over-the-top ultra "woke" movies that are openly hostile to white males and "straight" relationships. Because the push to make these movies comes from the top, the board of directors, which is under the control of two huge financial corporations. I believe they purposefully stoke the "culture wars" to cause people to vote conservative (Republican), so these corporations can get away with paying very little in taxes and no oversight. It is clear that these movies are hurting Disney profits, so normal shareholders would have changed course about two years ago. It seems Disney shareholders think stoking the culture wars is so important it doesn't matter if it loses them money. I might believe that these companies are simply "progressive". But they message they proclaim is not progressive, it is aggressive to the extent that it is hurting the progressive movement. That is why I believe their goal is not to help progressives, but the opposite. That is the effect their efforts are having, and as they double down on their course (as they are currently doing), that seems to be the effect they want.

USA: you need to fix the corruption in politics NOW. If you don't, a real GOP dictator will be elected in 2024.
1
Well said. Public officials serve the public, not a party or even themselves. Corruption must be dealt with on all levels, and faithfulness to their oath and office rewarded.
1
The only reason why the Republican party has any voters at all is because of their propaganda network masquerading as a news agency.
