  1. Excellent point. The fascists claim they want America back as it was in the 50ies, but without doing the things America did in the 50ies. Not that it would work: in the 50ies, most competitors of the US were still rebuilding the enormous damage WW2 did to their infrastructure and businesses. The USA benefited from this absence of competition. Now, however, its competitors are fitter than the USA is.

  2. GQPers only complain about the deficit when it is used to improve the life of all US citizens. You don't hear them when the deficit is used to boost their own bank accounts.
