The world should stop being afraid of angering Putin. History has shown that appeasement does not work, in fact it has the opposite result of emboldening the aggressor / bully. And no matter what we do, unless it is passively standing by and letting Putin get away with murder (as we have done a dozen times already), he will interpret that as an act of war. The most important step is to arm the Ukrainian people so they can stand up to the bully, but we also need to hit the people that support Putin, badly, and we need to take away Putin's ability to wage war. He has gone too far, and the world can not permit him to get away with this.
1
Even if Putin got those extra men, that would not help him to wage this war "successfully". Russia no longer has the man power to win this war. Remember, some 40% of those millions of soldiers Russia threw against the Nazis in WW2, were Ukrainian...

The Deep State is an imagination of the Liar in Chief. It does not exist.
1
Coming from Boris Johnson, that is saying a lot, as he is more than halfway the cuckoo house himself.

Putin will soon loose the political war and the information war he has been waging with the West. The various ways he has financed misinformation and right-wing extremist politicians will be investigated and the relevant parties prosecuted for money laundering, violating funding regulations and / or sedition. Imagine the shock when the GOPhers start to realize they have been led by Putler...

Again this shows the cruelty of the current Russian regime even to its own children. Pray to God that it ends quickly.
1
@olegkosygin2993 Of course, the situation in e.g. Russia (or even Hungary) is much worse, but both the UK and USA are in the process of becoming like them: Demockracies.
1
Putin is bluffing. Obviously, we should not unnecessarily call this bluff, but we MUST provide a robust response to his aggression that will cause his defeat in Ukraine. Putin will continue invading countries until he has re-constructed the USSR -- very much against the will of the countries who purposefully LEFT the USSR in the 1990 and 1991.

Mrs Dozier needs to be ashamed of herself. This is an absolutely reasonable counter-attack by the Ukrainians, and will not change anything apart from improving the tactical situation for Ukraine. Stop being so afraid of Putin! He is using that fear to lead you by the nose. I am sure that if a squadron of A10's strafed Russian columns inside Ukraine at the request of Zelensky, Putin would do nothing except protest. The west could even lease the planes & crews to the Ukrainians to make it completely legit. You deal with bullies by standing up to them.
1
@Whynotus253 He became a dictator the moment he instructed his people to ignore Congressional subpoenas. That was the moment he used the constitution to wipe his **s.
1
@Dragonstar-p5c You need to follow the some other news sources! Trump has committed crimes against both the law of the land and the constitution that were unthinkable before he perpetrated them. He has acted like a dictator in many ways, e.g. in using the DoJ and the DoFA for his personal purposes instead of the interest of the nation. Just go read the Mueller Report, or his impeachment.

That general is absolutely right. When Ukraine wins this war, they deserve to join NATO. Putin has lost any rights to complain about it. What more can he do about it? Suck it up, Putin.

Great food for thought. You make a few assumptions that I disagree with: First, that the GOP will continue to exist. But due to their past sycophant behavior, the GOP has lost all moral authority and integrity. Voters will show their disgust with what the GOP has done, as more and more Trump scandals surface. I think the GOP has damaged itself so much, that it has no future. Second, you assume that Trump will be around to take leadership of the GOP after 1-1-2021. However, it is more than likely that he will quickly lose one of any number of court cases, and be in jail for a considerable amount of time.

That is also the sign of a man who really understands the subject. No matter how complicated a subject, when you truly understand it, you can make it sound simple.

All his lying is exactly why I despise Dump. He has insulted humanity by his lying, and will reap the reward.
1
@Shoe Rue He has insulted me more than 10.000 times, so I will call him what I want. His name means something I will definitely not give him credit for.
1
@Shoe Rue Not too difficult, that is that the number of times he blatantly lied to us all. Actually, the number of lies is much higher, more like 20.000 times, but that may also include half-truths. Most politicians use half-truths to their advantage, but with Trump (sigh) about half of his utterances are either full-on lies or pure fabrications. Thus the 10.000. Can you believe that politifact had to introduce a new category to better describe the fabrications of Trump? The "Pants on Fire" category was introduced during the 2016 campaign, specifically because Trumps lies were (are) so outrageous. Sadly, many other politicians now also score in that category, e.g. Nancy Pelosi...

Why the hell are people still afraid of Putin. He is a bully that only understands language of strength. Just tell him plainly: any attack on NATO soil, including "stray" missiles, will be grounds for invoking Article 5. USA, what happened to your balls?
1
This was an attack right at the heart of Democracy. If they had succeeded, and they came VERY close, the USA would now be a dictatorship led by a Kleptocrat, just like Russia. It is all about greed: "the love of money is the root of all evil". But the USA isn't out of the woods yet. The Republicans will try again. Their first goal is to win at the mid-terms, to be able to put a stop to everything the Biden government is doing.
1
The USA needs UN observers on the elections. And I can predict their conclusion: the election was rigged by the GOP. I am very sorry, USA. You are no longer a democracy. The damage has been done and it is too late to intervene.
1
I fear for the USA. It seems they are trying to appease the Republicans by not prosecuting Trump for the crimes he committed while in office. We see with Putin how well that works. And I can not believe how the party of Law and Order continues to stand behind this dump.

The Church must realize that the christian nationalist is trying to hijack the Church. It is trying to pressure Christian leaders to comply with their tenets. It is thus important that the Church start to push back, explaining very clearly why christian nationalism is anti-Christian, as this dear lady has so eloquently done.
1
Time to get back to the "Well-Regulated" part of the 2nd amendment. Does anybody agree that background checks are a minimum to fulfill that?
1
@Randy778 As the man said, pray like everything depends on God then act like everything depends on you (St Augustine). Republicans don't like acting when it is going to cost them campaign money in the short term.
1
I can't imagine what Putin hopes to achieve with this. At some point, these people will revolt. There are only so many people you can send unprepared to their deaths before people catch on and start to really resist.
1
@allahc.c2701 No mate, your president is mis-using your funds and doing the opposite he is supposed to do. No-one is doing you harm, no-one is against Turkey. Atatürk was right.
