  1. The problem is not a lack of reason but a lack of trust. You will not accept the arguments of someone you do not trust, unless you are an exceptionally secure person. Which is why Putin and his disciples (Trump, Johnson, MTG, etc, etc) work very hard to undermine trust in fellow man, a trick they share with cult leaders.
