ThatFeel8080 > more of the Lord's work, not socialism You and your workers are extremely misguided. The Lord is not interested in your so called religious work while you are neglecting the plight of the poor. Ever read the parable of the goats and the sheep? No, I thought you hadn't. Go away from Me, I never knew you.

Exactly! Dutch journalists did this to the then-new Trump-supporting ambassador Hoekstra, was fun to watch. In the end, his aide cancelled the press conference. Not answering a question like that is an insult to the press core and to the people that depend on them for information, i.e. the general public. To have a free press, you need to stand together as journalists. Not trying to curry favor with the despot in the hope you might get an exclusive interview. Because as soon as you start to do that, you are no longer free.

ken walters We are not talking about the reliability of reporters, but on how to handle unreliable politicians.

They did right at the start of the presidency, when Dumpists invented the term "alternative facts". Remember that? His statement that his inauguration had the highest attendance ever? Critical reporters were then side-lined by colleagues that chose to collaborate with Dump. But this is a great time to get back on the issue.

@catelynh1020 Good stuff! Politicians need to take responsibility for their words, and only the media (and the voter) can hold them to it.

All his lying is exactly why I despise Dump. He has insulted humanity by his lying, and will reap the reward.

@Shoe Rue He has insulted me more than 10.000 times, so I will call him what I want. His name means something I will definitely not give him credit for.

@Shoe Rue Not too difficult, that is that the number of times he blatantly lied to us all. Actually, the number of lies is much higher, more like 20.000 times, but that may also include half-truths. Most politicians use half-truths to their advantage, but with Trump (sigh) about half of his utterances are either full-on lies or pure fabrications. Thus the 10.000. Can you believe that politifact had to introduce a new category to better describe the fabrications of Trump? The "Pants on Fire" category was introduced during the 2016 campaign, specifically because Trumps lies were (are) so outrageous. Sadly, many other politicians now also score in that category, e.g. Nancy Pelosi...
