  2. The first thing to repair this country is to take the corruption out of it. There are MANY situations where vital public functions have been delegated to a commercial company for outrageous costs, with that company being invariably being owned by a Tory donor. That is what is wreaking the NHS, the water authorities, etc, etc, etc. Public functions can be outsourced ONLY if there is competition. A water authority has no competition while it holds the concession, so its job can not be performed by a for-profit company. And competition can not be only on price, quality or value-for-money must also be taken into account. For example water authorities are currently being paid to literally do nothing.
