"A new but a different relationship with the EU" Yes, much diminished compared to the position you had before brexit. Which is the big brexit irony. As the man says, it is time for some honesty. Brutal honesty. Brexit was an act of massive self-harm that will have dire consequences for two generations at least.

You can't hold politicians responsible for executing the expressed desire of the voters. Seriously, Brexit is the responsibility all the citizens of the UK. For accepting outrageous lies from the media. For trusting corrupt politicians. For not applying critical thinking, and for allowing those that did warn them to be ridiculed. For not protesting vigorously when it was time to do so. A nation generally gets the government it deserves. You want to be governed by men of wisdom and integrity? Than prove yourselves worthy of such leaders! Until then, enjoy your course in the University of Hard Knocks.

@msa-tt4bg mainly because the media were massively biased in favour of brexit. Anyone warning of the consequences was hacked to pieces. Remember how they derided "project fear"? So I do not pity the British people. They got what they wanted, now let them enjoy it.

Exactly. So, the UK is now getting a thorough education from the University of Hard Knocks, which continues until they learn to Never Trust a Tory and to Stay Off the Tabloids.
