  3. Yeah, some platonic male friends do suck. Like in most situations, you have to be a good judge of character. Freshman year college my roommate and I met a girl who was 4’11’’ and she immediately said to us, “I don’t know anyone and I came from a small town.” Literally from that day on she would be across campus studying in the library and would call us at midnight to come get her and walk her back to the dorm because she didn’t trust the campus SafeWalk program. We did it because we both had little sisters and plus, it’s the right thing to do, especially when someone is asking for help. Not every girl has these types of friends around, but I truly think it helps.
