  6. Toyota missed the opportunity to make a truck like the Maverick. Regular hybrid in a duty vehicle. This new kind of hybrid rather stupid in so that it's built to appeal to driver/market expectations of not having a CVT feel. A regular series Parallel hybrid drivetrain is capable enough for a pick up. It's a problem that Toyota does not build it into any pick up truck or commercial rcial vehicle yet.

  9. The battery is high up because it's on 4 inch stilts underneath above the floor. A plug-in battery was an afterthought for Toyota.

  11. Toyota phoned it in and really squandered the last 15 years having dismissed EVs and ladened hybrids with larger, heavier, more expensive premium products. The bz40 wasn't its only disappointment, but for all plug-ins in general, from the 2012 plug-in prius and iQ EV to the low volume RAV4 and Prius Primes today. Low effort, compliance car, phone-ins An EV Prius could've been done in 2015, but noo....
