You forgot to mention that when Theresa May signed the backstop agreement on the 17th of December 2017 - it was only specific to Northern Ireland and GB was free to move around within its red lines more. Oh but of course, like a pantomime tragedy, in the heat of the post-brxt reelection, Theresa's Tories clutched to the Loyalist, fundamentalist DUP for maintaining power in their barely hung coalition parliament. Arlene Foster early on pushed May to accept that the only backstop acceptable in their coalition was one that didn't treat the Northern Irish Province differently to GB. 1 year later and here we are. Looking dead down at the barrelling "blood red lines" of self-guarded careerists and amateurish politicians.
