  2.  Anthony Burke  They never understood what the whole "EUSSR" thing was about, when the UK was a powerful contributer but also an equal memeber in the Council comprised of national memeber state governments - and the European Council is responsible of choosing the executive European Commission. The brexiteers were mad at how Ireland had the stronger hand over the backstop that their British government couldn't make go their way.
