  1. YourPalDaniel Which government? Tesla is their own enterprise, they can't be ordered at will. Tesla's goal is to be the new BMW that happens to be All Electric, not the new Renault. Larger automakers like GM, VW and Toyota should be pressured to make affordable electrics, but no one is really forcing them, definitely not the latter...

  2. Krisztián Kőrösi This is true. The car industry is a slow moving thing, it takes a minimum of 5 years to see anything slightly evolve, but EVs thankfully make marked advancements almost every 2-3 years instead. Hopefully by 2020 there'll be an affordable city EV that isn't depressingly bad that can be had below 20 grand. But even still, regular city cars don't even generate high margins. Even in Europe it seems likely they'll be replaced by the Crossovers
