  1. Actually, television was created for the express purpose of propaganda and controlling consumerism from inception. So unfortunately, the lie was it is there for our entertainment, when actually, it is there to control and subtlety shape the culture and ideologies of the public. This was a slow process, but we are seeing it without the mask we all knew it was wearing and can't pretend it's there.
