I think we all knew it wouldn't. It was one of those stories that had that classic status that had all the right signs to end such a way.

@TheSwordfish009 I've read it...lol! And no, I didn't mean where it stopped. Dark fantasy doesn't mean pessimism, it means it has a bleak world or outlook. The direction the story was heading seemed to deviate to something more hopeful, yet likely still with tragedy ahead. It's not at all where it was meant to stop, but it's just where it is. I referred to some masterpieces never finishing in their time. With all the breaks and pauses, it just seemed a sure indication.

@michaelkean5969 Japan treats things much different than people do in the West.

@michaelkean5969 Yes, they are xenophobic and not all are nice about it, they are at least more accepting than what we now see in the West, ironically. Their conservatism's bad manifestation is typically hesitance to do something new, which explains why we see anime and other mediums stick with certain tropes and archetypes so much. I don't understand it, but then again I do. Many are raised in America to be narcissists, so they insert themselves or their views onto someone else's work, plus just want to piggy-back on someone else instead of work their way up. Because of Japanese tradition and views on legacy, inheritance, they treat other's work with utmost care.

@mayuri4184 I've never even heard of the other two

@mayuri4184 Ah, okay. Hunter X Hunter might be added there out of shear laziness of the mangaka.

@samuraiboy497 The level of work I imagine took it's toll after so many years. Drawing that much detail and writing is no easy feat to keep up consistently, thus why he eventually formed a small team to help toward the latter part. Burn out happens and he was also working on another lesser known manga.

@mayuri4184 Well...laziness isn't the right word. Disinterest is more fitting.

@michaelkean5969 I hope to all that is good and true that Adi Shankar never touches Berserk. He and Warren Ellis destroyed Castlevania. They stuck to it somewhat in the first season, still with major background changes and plot, but by the second...it was no longer it. Just another Western studio taking someone else's work and making it their own with political overtones. I think it was Mad House that did the three part series, The Golden Age. They need to finish it up, not a Western company and Western animation studio. That will get attention where Castlevania didn't and people would be pissed if they altered anything. I can only hope people that want to show respect to his legacy do something, not those wanting to cash-in on his departure.

@mayuri4184 I said he was lazy, not you. Thus why I rephrased after, as it wasn't laziness. It depends if Muira left anything behind that it could be, but it likely will remain unfinished.

@michaelkean5969 And I can add no more better to what you've said.
