@julianm1842 You're forgetting Ellie said she wanted to give her life for the cure, the people asked her in the first place because it likely would cost her life. Joel is the one that wasn't having it, so he killed everyone because he didn't want to lose his replacement daughter.

@edwardrichtofen8530 Uh, Ellie wanted to try and save humanity if it was possible using her to do so. Joel is the one that killed everyone for his own reasons, and lied to Ellie about it. They never tried to murder Ellie. They asked her if she wanted to be part of it.

@CatherineInFlorida From the leaks it seems there is more than one confrontation between Abby and Ellie, or Ellie dies another way.
