They seem to have trouble accepting certain people are influenced or already disturbed in some way that a game my trigger in them a propensity that is already there. Certain people play certain video-games, that's a big duh, but that doesn't mean those that play more disturbing or violent games will go out and kill someone. Anything can plant a seed in someone, specifically movies. Why do they mention those or TV shows? They have the same effect, even lull the brain into a hypnotic state where they are certainly influenced. I think we've all become desensitized to graphic content, obviously, because of games and movies, yet it's not a call to act. If they really cared about this, they'd ban social media immediately because of the real world effects it does have and instigates. It's all a sick farce.
