  1. Many people mentioned in history's sole significance is the fact they were able to be recounted in history. The majority of people written down usually did not have significant impact beyond their sphere of influence, if they had that and not mentioned because in the room, battlfefield or wrote a cookbook, for small example. That's a shallow interpretation of history as it serves many purposes beyond grade-school level bullet points.
