  1. Way to many are concerned with turning a story on its head before learning how to tell a story and write it effectively. Even telling a basic story isn't easy to do if you have poor pacing and don't make simple characters intriguing/want to care about them on some level. Then imagine subverting/deconstructing that at the same time...so much ego and those that want to be savants. Aim to tell a story first, a good one, then aim to execute the rest.
