Agreed, learning how the mordern monatery system (MMT) works globally is an eye opener. This is essential understanding of how global monatery system works, and the full understanding of that scale of capability is needed, before you can form a political economy that functions smoothly with protections in place to prevent systemic crisis. It is the alphabet of economics. Without the alphabet you couldn't understand the written word, the system would make no sense, potentially producing harmful outcomes, gibberish. The system is built to enable all policies, with good, and bad, outcomes. It is all political choice, that is the problem. I think what Richard is saying is what the base line should be in all economies, to enable basic living requirements without political intervention at that level. Then to look at other policy agendas. No political banners should enable poverty, as the system doesn't require poverty to function well, it is quite the opposite.
