Besides, it is not the voltage that kills but the electric current, measured in amps (amperes). Typically the current is turned on for around 30 seconds then switched off. Usually a second surge is then applied for around 15 seconds.

And if the DJ said turn down electrical use because they were going to fry Ted Bundy it would have been a joke. The power used by the electric chair is produced using a generator within the prison itself. It is not sourced from the public electricity supply.
