  1. ​​ @famalam943  Apart from SEAL Team 6, which is a Tier 1 military unit (and it was the team that got Bin Laden), the rest of the SEAL Teams are Tier 2 units. The SAS, the SBS and Delta Force are all Tier 1 units. And Delta Force was based on the SAS. Read about US Colonel Charles Beckwith. He was seconded to the SAS in the 1960s. He was impressed enough that when he returned to the States he lobbied the top brass at the Pentagon to form a similar special forces unit. Delta Force was the eventual result.

  2. Why no mention of the Royal Navy's special forces unit, The Special Boat Service (SBS)?. They are even more highly trained than the SAS.
