And what about the innocent British civilians killed by German bombing? Or the innocent Dutch civilians killed in Rotterdam, or the innocent Polish civilians killed in Warswaw and elsewhere. Or, before WW2, the innocent civilians of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War in 1937. All killed by German bombs?

Why no response to my question? Why do you say RIP "to all the innocent Germans "? What about all the innocent victims of German bombing, be they Dutch, Polish, Spanish, British, French, Norwegian, Belgian and so on. Why don't you feel sorry for those victims? Explain.

@ICE69ROG If your concern is the bombing of civilians, what about the fact the Germans bombed the civilians of Guernica in 1937, during the Spanish Civil War (and don't say "but that was before WW2". You either object to the bombing of civilians or you don't). The Luftwaffe also bombed Poland in September 1939. And Rotterdam in 1940. Apparently it was OK if the Germans killed civilians, but not if the British did it.

@poorman7526 No, not just like America during 9/11. That was one attack which killed 3,000. London alone was bombed on 57 consecutive nights in 1940 and 1941. 30,000 Londoners were killed. And there were also multiple bombing raids on Plymouth, Portsmouth, Exeter, Dover, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Coventry, Liverpool, Belfast, Swansea, Cardiff, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle, Clydebank, etc.

@Astrid-jt8cd It was also a legitimate military target. It was a major transport hub for German troops being transferred to the Russian Front and had over a hundred factories producing war materiel. When Churchill arrived at the Yalta Conference the first question he was asked by Stalin was "Why haven't you bombed Dresden yet?" And why the focus on Britain bombing Dresden? You do know that the US also bombed Dresden?

Why don't you ask if the citizens of major European cities bombed by the Nazis still have "bad feelings" (what a curiously childish phrase) about what happened to them by the German Airforce during (and before) WW2?

These figures are simply wrong. RAF Bomber Command alone lost 56,000 aircrew. The losses for the USAAF were around 38,000.

Now, when I asked why you why you were OK with Germany killing British civilians, you change your tune to "Every country has done bad things". I have two questions. Does it occur to you that the British also hated Germany for the killing of British civilians? In 1940 the Luftwaffe targeted every major population centre in Britain, killing thousands of innocent civilians. And yet we are supposed to swallow hard and accept these losses as an inevitable result of modern warfare, while accepting that the killing of innocent German civilians was a warcrime. Why can't you accept that the killing of British (and previously, Polish and Dutch, etc.) civilians was also a wartime? And doesn't the attempted genocide of millions of Jews and slavs count as a war crime?

Were the civilians of Guernica, Warsaw, Rotterdam, London, Coventry, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Clydeside, Swansea. Cardiff, etc., to blame for their own fates? And for the record, firestorms happened in London, Coventry, Clydeside. etc. as well. Also, let's not pretend that the Germans (as some claim) only bombed military targets. That was not so. Ever heard of the Baedeker air raids? Look them up.

At the beginning of WW1 Churchill was appointed First Lord of the Admiralty. He was not Prime Minister and did not "start the war". The Prime Minister at the time was Herbert Asquith. On 3 September 1939 it was Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain who, on behalf of the Government, declared war on Germany. Churchill had once again been appointed First Lord of the Admiralty. He did not become Prime Minister until 10 May 1940, aft

The Prime Minister, however, the man who took Britain into the war, was Herbert Asquith. Re. WW2, it was Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain who on behalf of the British Government, declared war on Germany on 3 September 1939. Churchill didn't become Prime Minister until Chamberlain resigned, on 10 May 1940. So please explain why you think Churchill "started both wars". It's a pity you didn't even bother to do any research.

He had no power to take Britain into WW1. The Prime Minister when WW1 began was Herbert Asquith, as I've already told you. It was he who took Britain into WW1 in 1914.
