Bruce Leroy Faster in the 1/4 mile, YES. GTR's trap speed is Much slower 4<5 mph). Quicker...Not sure as I've seen 11.1 as the quickest so far for the reg. model (PS4 tires) on a prepped track. If the Track back breaks into the 10s then it is quicker AND Faster than the GTR. Top speed wise GTR is faster... But Much slower than a Hellcat or Redeye. On a track the GT500 will be way faster than ANY production GTR sold in the USA.

Miss Edit @ 3:51, it's 10.6s... 0-100-0...Not the Posted 0-60-0. Not to mention all the other times are on a "Prepped" Drag strip.... So add 4/10ths of a second for real world #s, it's the same with all Hi-Po american muscle....FYI those are the Numbers for the Track pack model, regular one due mainly to the tires (PS4 on the stock vs. Cup2 tires on the track pack model).

@naveenthemachine "Or $80K for a Hellcat redeye"... Redeye is over 20 mph Faster @ 203 mph.

@joenobody2580 2003 Cobra R? Did you mean 2000 Cobra R or 2003 SVT Cobra? The Cobra R was only out 1 year in 2000. That was the Best Factory mustang I ever Drove when I worked at the Ford dealership. Definitely the Best handling of the older gen models.

@joenobody2580 I was a Ford Technician back then and later Went to Work at a BMW Dealership before I retired due to a work related injury. At BMW I drove every model X5M, Stock & Modded M5, M3s, Rolls Royce Phatom. Rapper and Celebrity's cars. Mike Myer's Austin Power Mini Cooper, Aplina E65 B7 and even got to ride in a McLaren F1 LM that was getting serviced at BMW's Head quarters in NJ.

@twany442 " what makes you think that Ford fans want a corvette..." I hear that all the time from Ford fans and from sportcar enthusiasts that want more options. Most Chevy fans can't afford it and settle for the camaro. It's more about being a Flagship car to draw people in. It's the Same with all top tier sportscar brands...the Model, they really want they can't afford and it never sell well. They thing is that dreaming of that car gets people in the door. You don't think a Ford fan would rather have a Ford GT or a GT2 RS 911 over the base carrera? "...it still isn't able to keep up with Mustang or Dodge Challenger in sales at a cheaper price. "...... What are you smoking? 98% of All Mustangs sold are CHEAPER than a Base C7 Corvette. When you compare cars of equal price, Corvette vs. Gt350/R The corvette outsold them. "And didn't the Mustang Shelby GT500 just beat the the Corvette C8 according to MotorTrend on the track."... You mean a 495hp Z51 C8 vs. a 760hp GT500?? LMFAO, And would those IDIOTS run at VIR @ a track variation...no one uses? Answer..So you can't compare it to anything else. The Always used Laguna Seca or Willow springs 99% of the time...so when Randy laps it on one of those... I'll hold my judgement. https://www.motortrend.com/cars/chevrolet/corvette/2020/chevy-corvette-c8-vs-ford-mustang-shelby-gt500-track-comparison/ Whats interesting is that the 495hp street tire equipped C8 beat the GT500 in a drag race even with it's Cup tires, The Not cup tired GT500 was 4/10ths slower. A C7 Z06 runs the same 1/4 mile (0.1 sec quicker) than the Gt500. https://www.motortrend.com/cars/chevrolet/corvette/2015/2015-chevrolet-corvette-z06-first-test/ FYI, I like what Ford did with the GT500... except for it's weight and it's price. I like the GT 5.0 track packs... but it gets beat by the cheaper SS 1LE Camaro.

Everything with this sort of power has a Gas guzzler tax. You have to pay to play, or send the money to mod a less powerful version. The problem is that modded cars don't hold their value as much as Factory high-power.

Motor trend ran, 3.7s for the base GT500 and 3.6s for the Track pack equipped model. Accelerating from 50 mph on is where it shines. https://www.motortrend.com/cars/chevrolet/corvette/2020/chevy-corvette-c8-vs-ford-mustang-shelby-gt500-track-comparison/

That's why they offer the GT350/GT350R. Gt500 always had the latest and Greatest. You have to have atleast the Option of a DCT to be respected/relevant in todays world. 1/4 and track times would be about a1/2 second slower if it was a 6spd manual in the 1/4 mile and probably 1 sec+ on a track.
1
So basically you don't like ANY Supercar?... Because everyone is using this style transmission... even the new C8 Corvette only comes with a DCT.

@pontiacGXPfan Actually if you are Looking for Better Performance.... It IS , And that's a Fact. They offer the GT350..like I said in Manual for the ones that want to show how bad they drive (AKA, like honda drivers bouncing of the limiters at the drag strip). 99% of the people I see/know aren't GOOD...Nowhere Near Great at shifting a Manual on a road course or for time on a dragstrip... Me included. They could have offered the Tremec 6060 used in the old Viper as that is rated for Up to (warraty wise) 650 lb-ft. It's limits is also why you can't get it in the Redeye or Demon. ALL Mustang Owners need as MANY Driver aids as they can get....have you seen the videos? LOL
1
@pontiacGXPfan Not really as there's ALOT More to Driving than shifting on a race track. Which this and most supercars are designed for, more so than drag racing. In drag racing then shifting quick with a manual (on time) IS a "Skill"....But still any manual would be slower than an automatic.
1
@pontiacGXPfan DCT is ONLY taking your FOOT out of the Equation. Takes as much brain power to move a Shifter (which is a LEVER) as push/pull a Paddle. The Fact that the "So Called" Best driver's In the WORLD ALL Race DCT style cars, that proves you're wrong about it Not being for people with great driver's skills. DCT lets you go faster and quicker in turns, etc. Making their "driving skills"... Braking, handling at high speed in turns etc. I can Understand, people wanting to operate a manual...but it doesn't have ANYTHING to do with skills..just preference. Only Old school Nascar still uses a manual... but you don't need to shift fast when you only shift 2<4 times a lap. But they Finally did go Fuel Injected a few years ago... Only About 65 +/- yrs behind street cars.

Actually parking it for a while in a garage is THE way for a "Collector car" to Go UP in Value.

Stripes are optional, thank GOD, BIG$$$ for them ;-) * $375 - for vinyl tape "SILL" stripes * $1,000 - the vinyl tape Racing stripes * $10,000 !!! If you want the racing stripes to be painted on, OMG!

@p51abc Base price is $73, 995 before taxes. Most youtube test videos are of a Carbon track pack model and they are in the $94<$96 range. Loaded and you are $107k before taxes.
1
@joenobody2580 True, Ford Dealers are the Most Notorious for Price Gouging. That's why people need to compare the GT500 w/ carbon pkg. against the C7 Zr-1 as you will have to pay about the same for either.
