What makes the Hemi Special is ALL the Firsts/ Records it made. 1956 355hp Optional 354ci Hemi in the Chrysler 300-B.... Was the 1st American Car to make 1hp/1 cubic inch. Also Almost every year the 300 cars had a Hemi, it was the fastest American car you could by and set multiple land speed records. 1958 had an Optional MFI 392 with 390hp. 392 Hemi was also the Engine that MADE Drag racing what it is today. Establishing many first, in the 7sec 6 sec over 200mph 5sec 4sec 300mph. That's Not including all the Landspeed records... It Still holds the record for fastest Normally aspirated Land speed record @409 mph set back in 1965. First Nascar to over 200 mph. Set the Closed Course Speed record. Fastest Production car (1969/1970). ONLY Engine Banned from every form of racing - Indy, Nascar, NHRA.

LOL, Not the Challenger/ charger.... the old chrysler 200 is the only one that is questionable. As for pickups, Better due some research Ford and Chevy have recalled Millions of trucks compared to Ram.

That was on the early run of 5.7s. Poor Supplier. No Brand Build EVER part of their cars ( or even Most of it). Every Brand has had issues due to poor Supplier parts. BMW 335i/535i had over a year of Bad High pressure fuel pumps and BMW had to Buy back ALOT of them. I replaced it 3 times on 1 customer's car within 20,000 miles. Ford had to recall Million+ F-series last year due to door latches, unlatching for no reason. Hondas in the early 2000's had Models were the steering shaft would come apart.

Twin turbo Redeye engine;-)
2
Sure life you like being Under powered.
2
WTF?? That makes Zero sense.
2
Yeah, a 1966 Model

LS6 Factory engine was a 5.7L (actually 346 cuin.) You must be talking about a crate engine? They should do an LS video and Might include the crate engines as they did in this one with the Hellephant.
2
@jaidencarvalho1761 Oh, You are talking OLD school Big Blocks... I thought you were talking stroker LS motors. I had the chance to buy an LS6 Chevelle convertible when I was in my late 20's. It was Metallic dark green with white racing stripes, white top and white interior. Too bad my home life wasn't stable enough;-( Alos had the chance to by a 1968 427 corvette convertible, 1969 dukes of Hazard 440 charger, 440 cuda but still couldn't for the same reason;-(

It's Not Dodge, It's Fiat...they are Cheap and are Milking the Mercedes Designed cars for all they are worth. They think, Hey...they are outselling the Newly designed Camaro and are not that far behind the Newly designed Mustang in sales...so why spend the money. I too wish they had a Lighter...would have to be slightly smaller platform.
1
They do in top fuel drag racing, actually ALL Are hemis, ford and toyota too. As for street vehicles it's the cost to build.

My buddy's 2015 Hellcat has had Zero engine problems and he races it once a week. The Early 5.7L had lifter issues, My Brothers 2017 has 100k and Zero issues. Every brand has a Few engines with issues. Google Gt3 Porsches, they recalled every engine for 2 yrs, LS engines have had issues depending on years as did 4.6L Fords. FYI, Only Dumbasses call it a Fiat as the engine was designed built when Mercedes Owned Mopar. So if you want to call it anything it's a Benz. Fiat Has NOT redesigned ANY Performance model Dodge. Challenger/charger and Jeep are still using Chassis's Engines designed during the Daimler era. Only Uniformed Dumb Chevy/Ford/JDM/ Euro fags call those models a Fiat.

Ford has Alot of their engines/cars, GM duramaxes and pickups all in Mexico. If You want 100% american built, you have to get a Corvette, BMW SUV or a Subaru.
1
You do realize when the SBC came out the Hemi's in the same years were making Alot More Power? Smae Like today as the LT4 6.2L ONLY makes 650hp and the 6.2L Hemis are making 707,717, 797 and as high as 808hp with the same dispalcement.

Plymouth is a middle of the ground luxury brand...Dodge is the Entry level (Lower cost Brand). They had the Same Driveline, etc. Only styling interior was different. It's Like Chevy compared to POntiac, or Ford Vs. Mercury when they were around.
1
@jiggyjfishing219 What are you Smoke?, Or you just Don't know the History of Plymouth. Plymouth, was Founded by Chrysler.. who bought Dodge from the Dodge Brothers. And during the 60/70's Shared Complete Drivelines, many chassis parts with Dodge. It's the same with Ford and Mercury. Gm probably was the one manufacturer that allowed individuality between Brands. Like Chevys 350 was different from buicks. Buick, pontiac and Oldmobile each had a 455ci big block but they weren't the same engine.

It's a Hemi that was "Sqeezed" like a Lemon. What really says/Makes it a Hemi Descendant is the Apposing valves. All Old hemi heads had valves across from each other and crazy rocker arms. That's also what made them Powerful. Heavily angles vavles across from each other allowed for the Largest Valves for a Given bore size.
1
"Side Valve" ... Never heard it called that, Everyone calls it a "Flat HEAD" that I know.
1
Who's they?? You could put a Hellcat crate engine in anything... the Hellephant is only street legal in <1976 vehicles for street use... everything later is only "Off-road".
1
@lowfrequency400xp LOL, Based Off as in suspension/sub frames.... Doesn't mean it's using those OLD parts. So I guess you think the 911 is Garbage...as it's using a Flat 6 "Based on" the one the started using in the Early 60's?? GTFOH;-) BMW still using a Slant 6, Ferrari with V12s...etc. Do some reseach, You are only making yourself Look Bad.
1
@lowfrequency400xp LOL, Again, Fiat is still Building the DIAMLER BENZ Designed 300, Like the CHallenger, Charger.... Nothing is Fiat Designed/Not a Fiat, Only maybe slight interior updates.

@jaidencarvalho1761 I Had the Chance to buy them...but family problems kept me from doing so. I grew up around racers so I've been around them alot...especially Modified ones. 1 Guy I knew had a short stroke 327 that rev'd to 8,500 rpms in a 1970 Nova that had most of the body panels swapped to aluminum (<3,000 lbs). He started it and did a line lock burn out in a closed Garage... You want to talk about ear hurting Loud. A Friend of Mine races Top Dragster (Not top fuel), 700cuin Big block with NOS running in the 6 sec zone/200+mph. I crewed on his car for a couple events when his normal guy was out. Almost everyone in my family had a Modded muscle car growing up. I use to race My Pickup on open track night and Highway racing.
1
Since 1971/1972 it's Only been NET. The Difference is that Newer cars have so many accessories that use to be Engine driven that are Now Electrically. (water pumps, oil pumps, power steering).. Do that to an Old Muscle car engine and those "gross HP #s" would be their Net HP.
