Great video, I have heard of the Vesco and turbinator names.. just not their history.👍 Just some notes, Thrust SSC wasn't the first to break the sound barrier... that was the Budweiser Rocket car in 1979. It just wasn't confirmed by sanctioning bodies, just the US. Air-Force. It's fun how history has alot of "Asterisks", especially for automotive records. You use to have " Homologations" to claim a car as a " Production vehicle"... nowadays it doesn't seem to matter? Everyone thought the Bugatti veyrons /chirons top speed were " Production car" worlds. Actually MOST were NOT records, but flat out lies. Other interesting tid-bit, about the turbine using the "ecu" to control rpm instead of a throttle body. Recent BMWs operate like this turbine, in that it doesn't use it's throttle body to control engine speed. It's actually there as a DOT mandatory safety backup. BMWs Valvetronic in conjunction with it's Vanos system, controls.. when and how much air/fuel is let into the engine. It's range and speed of the valves control allows it to adjust engine speed.
