Rick Simpson LMFAO, Like a FORD FanBoy... You can't even get your info correct, not even about your ford engine. FYI, the New FORD V8 is a 7.3L (NOT 7.2L) also a OHV V8 so all the Ford guys talking BS about pushrod can now take their foot out of their mouths.

True..Because of it's displacement and Not from any design/advancement. Chevy's 6.6L makes the most TQ/ displacement and the 6.4L Hemi makes the most HP/Displacement of the Big gas engines available in HD trucks.

IIHS testing is Inaccurate anyway. It doesn't represent different vehicles and of different sizes being in an accident ( the BLOCK they are hitting goes to the floor, I.E. evenly distributed Force). A 8,000lbs 1ton pickup hitting a honda Accord, the people in the Accord would be DEAD... even with the IIHS Highest Rating. The Pickup's bumper would be hitting the trunk or Grill (above the Accord's bumper) which would Negate ANY saftey that it would give, Like in these tests.

@xxxmikeyjock "seeing every engine family has multiple versions of all those internal dimensions, you are full of shit. " LMFAO... FANBOY is now back stepping as the Ford 351 doesn't come close in ANY of those dimensions. THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS on Youtube with FANBOYS like YOU. When you are PROVEN Wrong, you change the subject and start calling people Names Just like a Cry-Baby little kid... which you obviously are. Keep Talking SHIT as you put it... You are proving me Right and making yourself look MORE like a kid that doesn't know anything, Talking out his ASS.

Diesel Powertrain warranty is for 100,000 miles, Gas is only 60,000 miles. That makes a big difference.
2
You should watch the Roll over test... where it also got the worst rating.
2
Where is that "Acceptable" Rating on the Ram? On the screen it says G = GOOD , It Looked to have Better ratings than all the other 1/2 ton Pickups in this video? Also I recently watched an IIHS 1/2 ton comparison video (which included Roll over rating- not talked about in this video) and the results were. 1. Ram 2.F150 3.Silverado 4. Titan 5. Tundra
2
I want the 6.4L in the 1500 ;-) Can you say SRT8?

That's Why I Love it when Idiots think they will cut off a Big truck and try and Brake Check him. Also why Stupid Slow drivers should keep to the Left and not use the left lane for Sunday cruises.

Khaki, Actually Oldsmobile (GM) was the 1st american brand with a pushrod OHV engine. But this isn't a copy of an LS. I still don't know why Ford didn't bother to improve the V10, All I can think is production costs (20<25% more parts).
1
@xxxmikeyjock "and the LS is a SBF copy" ... Neither copied each other.
1
@xxxmikeyjock LMFAO... All you have is , " Water ports "? You call that copying?
1
@xxxmikeyjock Too much to list... That's 2 minor things. Damn you are funny with these JOKES..😆😂 Port shape the same? Piston diameter? Rod length? Stroke? Intake? Oil pump design? Coil near plug? Hell, the piston , rod and stroke size are closer to a SBM than a SBF.

Sucks that the 2500 gets a lower powered Cummins vs. the 3500. Also the Payload rating it's impressive. If you can't do it with a 1500, just go to the 3500.
1
460 was a 7.5L... Not a 7.3. Ford's Only 7.3 was the International made 7.3L Diesel.

Actually Ram Got better results, especially in the Roll over test Not shown in this video... This is a Ford commercial(Paid for by Ford)...Only showing Ford positives...like Ford using F450 #'s against Ram/Chevy 3500s. Ford Was smart with the Cab/Fenders/hood.... BUT it was DUMB to use it on the interior of the cargo Bed. They Still could have used it on the rear fenders/tailgate exterior material to save weight. The Problem was FORD ALWAYS wants to be the Tallest truck and the extra weight was severely hurting their cargo capacity in the past...Also the previous steel F150s rusted away the fastest of any brand pickup.

@DS-TRUCKS " IDK if that's something Ford would do... Maybe GM. " I'm Not sure about what you are referring too? Can you cut/paste what you are commenting on like I did in this reply.
1
Not from the factory... Since they will be putting it in other HD trucks (F450/550/650) tow trucks, chassis cabs they will more than likely be available with a manual...so you can use/find one of those transmissions to swap in (IF it fits). Of course those are HD truck manuals and Nothing like a manual out of a Camaro or challenger.

@oceanwaves83 "2 mpg difference is possible on direct vs port injection, both with great tunes? In what setting? " ... LOL, So True. He's been drinking the funny juice or believing in late night info-mercials. DI will NEVER get 12 MORE MPG over a Port injection engine of the same size or power. DI, Does allow Higher Static compression which will give some power gains on the same fuel....That being said...Running 87 Octane (like Zach said) would cause you to lose ALL the Extra power due to timing (fuel & ignition) changes. If you aren't running 91-93 then you are ONLY getting a pushrod engine with injections/fuel pump that cost 10x as much as before.
1
Better yet, if the truck has the option/lock to turn off the passenger side airbag;-)

I still don't understand why they bothered (spent more money) going back to a Big/pushrod/v8 when they spent so much on/ had the Sohc V10.

@ze3bar "Small" is the Key word. The Honda Odessy can carry more cargo.
1
@ze3bar Avalanche is still a TRUCK because it has a Body on Frame... that's the difference between a car and truck. Not to mention the Avalanche can tow Alot more.

@kevinmccune682 My Dakota has an 8' Bed, Before I Modded the rear inner wheel-wells, I did have to use the notches in the bed sides for 2x4s to make the support to fit 4x8 sheets width wise. N Not to mention a Higher payload than quite a few Pickups Higher Payload rating: 890 lbs HIGHER than ANY TUNDRA More than 2x more than a Tacoma or Ford Raptor 25 of the 31 trim variations of the new F150
1
Ridgeline is 1/4 ton pickup in towing (base towing only 3,500lbs and MAX towing is still 1,400lbs LESS than a Tacoma). It's a 3/8 ton in payload mid 1,400 < 1,600lbs (just like the TUNDRA which is rated at 1,662lbs. MAX).

It's a Whanna-be El Camino / Ranchero.
