To people in this video I want to clarify that Punjabi ≠ Sikh. Punjabis can be Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus (and some Christians) as well. Muslim Punjabis are by far the highest in number with Sikhs and Hindus having similar numbers. Therefore, when you think that Punjabi is Sikh, actually you forget that the majority of Punjabis are actually Muslim and there is a large Hindu population as well.

There are not so well off Indians in America too. I was at the Harrah's Casino in Atlantic City, NJ where some of the dealers were Indian men in their 60s and some of the cleaners were Indian ladies in their 50s. It was quite sad to see that.

@pizzastefos3225 Actually, if you consider the number of Punjabi Hindus who live outside of Punjab, the number of Punjabi Hindus is actually quite similar to Punjabi Sikhs. Someone did an analysis that Punjabi Hindus and Sikhs are actually quite similar in number around 1947. But post partition, Hindus spread out across India more than Sikhs did.

@Heman-b8l In fact, Punjabi Muslims are by far the big majority of Punjabis.

@pizzastefos3225 Not true. They identify as Punjabis but yes, many of them can't speak Punjabi anymore. But let me put it to you this way, there are many Sikhs who have moved to the UK and cannot speak Punjabi (of course many who still can) and can only speak English. Will you say that they are no longer Punjabi if they cannot speak Punjabi?
