  1. For an Italian to surrender Italian citizenship is a categorical mistake. Italian citizenship is unique based on lineage. Meaning that every descendant of an Italian from 1861 onwards can be an Italian citizen. Italy has a good passport also. Surrendering this is basically surrendering your entire lineage for decades and centuries into the future. The exception is that if his children are still Italian and he is Singaporean, the lineage does not break.
