  1. Why would it ever be in China's interest to accept India. The whole process is stupid gatekeeping. China is lucky to have the seat. It was given in 1945 to the Republic of China (today's Taiwan) and held by the Republic of China until 1971 when the UN switched to the People's Republic of China.
