I’m gay and like many others want nothing to do with pride or the alphabet people. However, you should realise that the gay rights and gay pride movements have been hijacked by gender identity and trans rights activists. Pride is no longer about being gay. The issue is that gay rights was about equality, trans rights however is about special treatment. The problem is that the association some have created with trans people is making wider views of gay people worse. The gender identity/trans movement is homophobic and anti-woman at heart and this blind acceptance in the name of diversity is dangerous. Gay people like me who disagree with all this nonsense, are effectively excluded from the conversation for being the ‘wrong type of gay’. We’ve seen gay men removed from pride events for making the obvious point that sexuality and gender identity are two completely different issues and should not be conflated. I genuinely despair about how all this will pan out.

Stop voting for them then

I’m not proud to be gay, nor am I ashamed of it. I’m actually quite indifferent about it….it is what it is and I just get on with it. I’ve never felt the need to march through the street dressed as a walking rainbow. I not insecure enough to need validation from anyone.

Still do round here

Me included. Being gay is the least interesting thing about me and I certainly don’t feel the need to walk through the streets draped in rainbows to ‘celebrate’ something that is just a part of me like the rest of my persona.

The same people who love to emphasise our differences don’t seem to grasp that all it achieves is creating groups of ‘others’ that segregate themselves. When it all goes wrong, they then call for people to ‘come together’. Maybe if we focussed on our similarities, not differences, we might just get a more cohesive society.

The reality is that we need an honest debate and what the NHS does and doesn’t try to deliver. At the moment it’s try to do too much a, while some of it is good, much is mediocre. Surely it would be better to reduce the scope of the service but at the same time making sure that what it does deliver is world class. In addition, there is a generation now who believe the NHS/their GP is the answer to everything. We’re a nation now who happily devolves responsibility for our lives (or health in this case) to someone else, usually the state. Far too many people clog the system up unnecessarily meaning it’s harder for those who actually need to be seen.

How else do we break down history - eye colour, shoe size? Or, do we just accept that history is history.

Good to know they can all freely travel to/from the UK without having to show any ID.

I was in Croydon the other day. Apparently it is in England, but my eyes and ears weren’t telling me that.

Looking at the news reports, it would seem many people at the ‘carnival’ were too busy fighting, looting, stabbing or getting stoned to have chance to be offended.

@DW-dd4iw I’m surprised you found a London bus driver that speaks English

There will never be enough cash. The real conversation that’s needed is an honest assessment of the scope of the NHS and a reality check that it can’t continue trying to deliver everything it does today. It needs to reduce what it does but do it well.

Plenty of manners up here in Yorkshire….away from the cities of West/South Yorks that is.

If people are obsessed with emphasising how we are all different, why are then surprised when this doesn’t lead a to a cohesive society?
2
Possibly because it’s rather hypocritical to label yourself as a liberal whilst making disapproving moral judgements about others

The next one has to be a fat, black, disabled, muslim lesbian. Let’s just tick every box.

Think your argument is a little off here. Supposedly Patel wanted to push through further reform to curb immigration but it was the white man Johnson who blocked her. Our new Home Secretary is on record as being willing to leave ECHR to manage immigration better, so I don’t think the argument that she is sympathetic to immigrants because she is from an immigrant background applies. Let’s see how they perform before judging whether their appointment had any talent based merit.

I noticed exactly the same. Click on the article and the first image is a composite of all ten victims. Two victims are a mother and young son, so the parent and young child angle isn’t unique to the black man and his daughter. All that distinguishes them from the others is their skin colour. Funnily enough, a casual look through BBC articles suggests that being non-white helps you gain prominence as a victim, and lose prominence as a perpetrator. Coincidence?

@TPT6148 think of all the nurses that would buy 😉

@richjones4956 reform to send a message. Never voting for a ‘mainstream’ party again

@lorenzolozzigallo2589 Jesus is dead, so not really sure that he did save you. Hey ho.

@ljones2087 Marriage is a civil act, indeed the law in the UK doesn’t force religious institutions to conduct same sex marriages if they don’t want to. The point is nobody lost anything in any of the changes you mentioned, but consenting adults gained equal treatment under the law.

The same Sainsburys that makes a big fuss of supporting ‘pride’. Virtue signalling while happily taking money from Qatar.
1
That’s the issue, trans have hijacked the gay rights movement. Gay rights was about equal treatment, trans rights is about special treatment. Most gay people disagree with the merging of both issues but their voices are drowned out by the shouty lot.

Might as well keep borrowing as much as we can as, according to the eco-loons, the world will implode soon so we won’t have to pay any of it back.

You’ll notice that the police still manage to have speeding vans, because they make money for them! They do same that crime pays….

Why are footballers doing anything other then play football - when did it become a thing that every business or organisation has to have a political agenda?
1
@Diddy1970AD true, but these aren’t everywhere…the main bus operator in my area has never had them.
1
@christinejones826 indeed, the gay rights movement has essentially been hijacked by trans rights/gender identity activists. Even Stonewall is now promoting homophobic policies. The world has officially gone mad.

In this case, confusing lesbian with attention seeking moron

At least if we run out of water, the boat people won’t be able to float over.
