No, many airlines switched to smaller aircraft in order to increase frequency as that is what the market wanted.

There are already people turning away from the MAX - just look at Ryanair who effectively rebranded their aircraft away from that name. Unfortunately, Boeing continues to give the media plenty of reasons to talk negatively about them.
9
@inpayne Wow - that’s a shocking thing to say. Clearly you think the MAX was grounded and Boeing paid compensation to ‘cover up’ poor piloting? You also conveniently ignore that a piece of software that Boeing didn’t think to tell anyone existed was actively working against the pilots causing the issue that brought down the aircraft.
6
Exactly. These idiots are more concerned with getting their instagram moment than other people’s safety.
5
Just think about the sheer cost of developing a network in the US that would have even the tiniest impact on flight demand….I’d put the likelihood of it happening at zero.
5
This is true, but Boeing is the only aircraft manufacturer that currently has an incredibly negative public perception issue which makes their products very unattractive at the moment.
4
@inpayne There are no major safety of cultural issues at Airbus. Either way, it doesn’t alter what is happening with Boeing. Deflect all you want but it doesn’t alter the reality of the situation.
4
If passengers turn away from wanting to fly on Boeing aircraft, especially if there is another incident, this will further reduce the available aircraft and make the situation worse. I bet American wish they hadn’t retired their A330s/B767s and BA their B747s.
4
@megalamanooblol that’s an interesting point - Boeing’s issues could allow a third dominant player to enter the market, especially in Asia. All in all, for Boeing, it’s a huge problem that they themselves have created.
4
@danharold3087 I agree - the cultural issues at Boeing stem from management and the drive for more profit. An engineering business should never cut corners on their core functions.

Gave up after 5 minutes. A real clickbait nonsense video. A real shame your standards are nosediving.
2
Why would you get your phone out and start filming before you’ve even evacuated the aircraft?
2
If you voted for Harris I’d suggest you need psychological help.

@Chris_1024_ some do, some don’t, but you only need say 5% of passengers to be put off before revenue is affected. Airlines like Ryanair are rebranding the MAX for a reason. The same thing happened with the DC-10 in the 1970s with lots of short term reputational damage.
2
@jeffn8218 Of course they do - airlines are businesses and will only succeed if they are attractive to the market. The market has wanted lower cost tickets, and that is what we have had. You can’t have it both ways.
2
Nothing wrong with Ryanair….you get what you pay for.

And the first air war….
