It’s generally seems to be the people least affected by immigration that are ‘horrified’ when those that are most affected push back against it. Dumping economic migrants in economically deprived areas, because housing is cheap, is bound to lead to tensions. I’ve seen it in my own area. She rightly highlights that there are plenty of ‘migrants’ whose applications for asylum have been turned down multiple times, yet they remain in the UK at taxpayers expense.

@johnhamilton2923 I don’t think that has anything to do with it….it all started in the Blair years when people from Kosovo and then Iraq/Afghanistan were placed across the north, often in condemned council housing that was awaiting demolition. In my own city, two empty tower blocks were filled up almost overnight, with no support services or jobs for them to do. People really need to take their hatred for a certain party out of the equation and look at the reality of a situation.

@johnhamilton2923 so what, my point is that this issue has been ongoing for 20+ years.

@Gary-le7dz The rot set in under Blair - average migration 1997-2010 was around 400% higher than 1979-1997, with 2.2m migrants coming in 13 years. Sadly, that trend has continued and the numbers have significantly grown. No UK party will get this under control.

@Gary-le7dz Hard for anyone to argue that the population going up by 10,000,000 in 20 years hasn’t had an impact.

@Gary-le7dz There are a multitude of factors behind all of those stats - the party in power isn’t the only factor! 2000-2008 was a period of economic growth worldwide, not just in the UK, for example. The pandemic has clearly had a factor. The NHS is no better in any part of the UK when compared to England, indeed there are proportionately five times more people waiting over a year for treatment in Wales compared to England, and that’s been run by Labour for 20 years. I’m not saying the current government are any good, I’m saying a change of government will do little to change anything because, fundamentally, both main parties are globalists signed up to a very similar agenda.
