The usual low turnout with marginal Labour victories helped by Tories staying at home and Reform splitting the vote. Hardly a good night for anyone.

@isotropisch82 But it’s the truth….the Tories lost a safe seat but there wasn’t a dramatic rush to the polls to support Labour. 60% of voters stayed at home.

Exactly - Labour are just Tory lite and the Tories are blue Labour.

@badbones777 I think the scale of the general election loss is up for debate, though I don’t doubt the Tories will not be in power. The problem for Starmer and Labour is they aren’t giving any real reason to vote for them other than they aren’t the Tories….there’s no excitement around them or eye catching policies.

@stevec6427 exactly, which is why it’s always nonsense when the winning party (they all do) claim it shows some dramatic movement for change.

@stevec6427 The PM will call a GE when he feels it works best for him, as every PM before him has done. The current situation isn’t unusual in the slightest.
