  2. Regarding those who oppose the drone flights from Germany, I wonder if they would feel the same if terrorists were attacking and killing Germans around the world. Would they still want a trial for a terrorists who was killing Germans from a safe place somewhere in the middle East? If Germany had been attacked on 9/11 would those Germans prefer to let the planers of the attack live happily ever after while continuing to kill others around the world?

  5. I was biting my tongue as you speaking about the drug issue. But then you said what I was thinking, it's highly regionalized. I went to school in Rochester New York and never saw any drugs, only smelled marijuana occasionally. Your college experience is shocking to me LOL. I think the drug companies were a big part of creating the drug probo. They wanted to sell drugs and convinced doctors that they were safe (a long time ago). By the time we all figured out how bad the problem had become it was too late to stop it. Now we have China throwing gasoline onto the fire trying to weaken the United States the same way Great Britain did to China back around 1840. If you never heard of this before look up the opium war...

  7. It's online now? That's cool. I remember filling out all the forms on paper, making copies and sending it off with a paper check. The process I did was a little bit different. It started with a fiance Visa, then temporary residency, permanent residency and finally citizenship.

  8. in general it's a good rule of thumb that bad guys conceal their guns. Openly carrying is usually done by the good guys. Displaying a gun draws attention and bad guys don't normally want attention.

  9. About the water. Some places will offer you a bottle or a glass, the bottle cost money. Some places will give you the bottle and charge you for it unless you request a glass of water and in some places the tap water is not safe to drink. I was kind of shocked when I went to a restaurant in Newark New jersey. Asked for a glass of water and they said oh no no no it has lead 😮

  10. What kind of auto racing do they have in Germany and have you guys been to races? Out there in Ohio they race Sprint cars on small dirt tracks. Very light, very powerful cars with wings on top that go 100 mph on a little dirt track. I'd love to hear how that compares to whatever you have in Germany and to see what you think of it.

  11. Ever since we switched to the plastic bags it's driven me nuts how for some reason the cashiers seem to want to put each product in its own bag. I've often done the same as you and consolidated the groceries into many fewer bags hoping the others would get reused... but they probably didn't :-( Where I live, those plastic bags cannot be used by the cashiers anymore. The idea is that everyone should bring their own semi-permanent bags to use but if you need one at the cashier you can purchase it for about 30 cents each. Lack of recycling drives me nuts too. I hate plastic but at the same time I can't dispute its convenience and practicality. I just wish we would recycle better. Don't even get me started on the sloppy, disrespect people that throw their garbage on the ground wherever they happen to be...
