This was the first time I've seen Alina. She did a good job and she's very beautiful too. However I did think it was little annoying that she didn't stay quiet while Ben was speaking. Several times he seemed to hesitate when she made a noise as if she was going to interject or interrupt, but she wasn't, she was just making noises... uhua, uhua, uhu, uhua

They're struggling to get one aircraft program going. they've started with the most beneficial aircraft. At this point adding the Warthog would distract from the F16 program and they might get shot down pretty fast anyway. Have you noticed that the SU-25s keep getting shot down? I think that A-10s could be used effectively but F-16s are more useful at this point so why be distracted with anything else?

I would also like to ask Mr. Illarionov... Does Putin really think that NATO wants to attack Russia or is that just propaganda he uses to justify his actions? If he really does believe that, when did he start to feel this way and why?

I'm always excited when I see a new Ben Hodges interview. Alina is beautiful and she did a very good job. The only thing that I found a little irritating is that she has a habit of not being quiet while Ben was speaking. She kept saying uhua,uhua,uhua.... Several times Ben seemed to hesitate as if she was going to say something but she was just making noises.

After about 5 minutes I stopped watching the video. He seems to be giving us theoretical and hopeful answers without any real knowledge of the real life situation. He seems to believe that Ukraine is being provided better updated airplanes than what I've been hearing. I HOPE he's right and that they get great stuff, sufficient training and find lots of success. I HOPE that these F-16s are able to get some of the latest AIM 174 B missiles to shoot down a few Sukois at long-range. That would really give the Russians something to think about similar to when Ukraine had the roving Patriot air defense system. I HOPE they are provided nato weapons like the JASSM missile and are given permission to use all this stuff to its full capability. However, hope is not a strategy and given the rules of engagement that have been imposed regarding ATACMS missiles, I can't be too optimistic at this point. Various versions of the F16 have been pledged and committed to Ukraine. It will be very interesting to see what is actually delivered. Especially interesting will be what's delivered this year, what the rules are for how they can be used and what weapons they are provided with. I am very hopeful but not counting on hope...

I would like to ask Mr. Illarionov... if Putin sees himself as the chosen one and the smartest one, and he makes his own decisions, how does he internalize it when his decision to go tragically wrong?

Very intelligent and experienced man, Ben Hodges. He realized that like most people he was wrong in the beginning but quickly adapted to the reality that was becoming apparent. Daniel Davis should take some lessons from Ben Hodges...

They've been saying that but I haven't seen any reliable reports of it being done. If Ukraine really had the green light, stuff and Russia would be blowing up.

Great conversation. HELLO Alina 🙂

@jonlittle5032 The tactic only worked that time because the tactics of the F-16 failed. Flying the same route over and over is lazy and careless... and costly.

@davidlanders2853 I'm not sure which planes they're getting from which country or in what order. A lot of versions of the plane have been pledged or committed but it will be very interesting to see what is delivered, especially what is delivered this year.

Completely agree. Do you think another factor might be that Germany still hopes to get cheap energy from Russia when this is over? Could Germany really think that Russia will not sell them energy regardless of what happens in the war? Russia will sell anything to anyone regardless of how the war works out because Russia needs the money.

@jonlittle5032 I was mostly responding to the comment you made where you asked why wouldn't that tactic work on another day. It wouldn't work on another day because they wouldn't repeat the same noob mistake twice.

It is not gone. The disposition of the US changes every four years. Several presidents have been weak in the face of adversaries which has emboldened Putin and Xi. Now we have the king of corruption and I think this is "the bottom of the range". As soon as Trump is gone things should take a turn for the better.

The decision whether or not to have a war is not just in Putin's hands. The decision is also in the hands of those who support Ukraine. If they don't want a war they just stop supporting Ukraine. Putin wins. War is over...for a while.

@derloos I wish Pompeo's plan was meaningful but he doesn't represent Trump. Even if he did, you never know what trump's gonna do. He could go in any direction at any time. Same with Vance. Vance's opinion seems to be very much for sale to the highest bidder.

The idea that it's unrealistic for Ukraine to regain its territory is ridiculous. That idea only works if Ukraine doesn't get the support that it needs.

JASSM

Why would Russia blow up the gas line, what would be their motivation? I think it makes sense for anybody on Ukraine's side of the conflict to blow it up or not Russia.

Somehow I think Alina and Ben were misunderstanding each other at times. Alina kept saying that Zelenskyy has stated the goal to kick Russia out of Ukraine. Ben was trying to express that Biden and Scholz need to State the same goal, which so far they haven't.

Since ATACMS was given the green light, the FAB glide bombs have diminished dramatically. How many lives and how much territory would Ukraine still have if Biden hadn't kept the restrictions on for way too long???🤬

They have been using their current jets very cautiously because they can afford to loose them. To get the maximum capability from the F16 they will have to attempt things that are more risky. If they're given what they need to do certain missions and they do everything correctly it should work, but if any part of it fails the planes could be very vulnerable.
