Asenueh do we have to go over this again..??? i could fill several pages about how poor that argument is. this is the united states of america, NOT some small homogeneous european country. there are multitudes of political, social, and economic differences that make that form of socialism/communism suicide for our country. by the way, for every country that you mention that that style of government is doing OK in, I can counter with another country is being destroyed by it. Or a country that no longer even exists because of it! just for a very easy, quick argument - you mentioned education. well, before LIBERALS took over our education system, we WERE the top in the world. people like jill stein are the exact reason why we have fallen so far in education in this country! and please dont respond with some propaganda about "free college". THAT is not our problem. our problem is that we're graduating people after 12th grade who only have 6-7th grade reading & math skills, and know more about "gender discrimination" than they do about science. (and by science, i dont mean global warming)

  7. Asenueh I appreciate your opinion and your response, but I have to say it is completely false. We spend MUCH more on education today than we did back when we were the best. That argument is the "left's" go-to answer to everything - "We need more money! Raise taxes!" In my state, private schools educate a student for about 1/3 the cost that is allotted to each public student, and turn out a much, much better educated and prepared graduate. I see you mentioned, "public investment" - those are code words only a political hack or party shill would use. What they really mean are "INCREASED TAXES". That is exactly why I, and many others, call Jill a wacko. If you haven't noticed, we citizens in this country are sick & tired of more and more taxes! Our government is grossly inept and inefficient at best, and corrupt at worst. THAT is why we have fallen in every category, on the world stage. The LAST thing we need to do is confiscate more money from the producers in society, and give more money to the inept, inefficient, corrupt bureaucracy of government. There is a sea change happening right now, and people like Stein are on the wrong side of history.

  8. Asenueh I agree with your last 2 paragraphs. I agree a little about some of your other points. As Trump said, there are too many inconsistencies and "deductions" (many on the left mistakenly call them loopholes) in our tax code, and should be streamlined and simplified. He said he and his rich friends could very well pay more taxes under his changes. I dont agree at all with the inheritance tax. I dont think there should be any at all. Again, as I said, we still spend much more per pupil today than we did when we were great. Yes, there may have been cuts, or changes in the way the funding is handled in different localities, but overall, we're still spending much more - and getting much less. The answer isnt more money. Get the Liberal Propaganda Doctrine out of schools and go back to the STEM studies, and trim 1/4 to 1/3 of the top-heavy bureaucracy off, add a little discipline, and we could again produce world-class graduates. Get rid of the NEA and teachers unions, and we all could even get tax breaks while doing so!! :-)
