  3. *ponder. And it's true. With our regulations, Unions, and general work ethic, we will NEVER be able to compete against the rest of the world with general manufacturing. It just can't happen anymore. Yes, we might be able to do it in some highly specialized fields or cutting edge technologies, but for textiles, or steel mills, or electronics, there are just so many hinderances against us (of our own doing), they we simply can't build the plants, hire and train good workers, pay for the energy, and put out high quality product as fast and as cheap as many other countries around the world. It's a shame. Because I know we actually "could", it's just that we "won't". It just won't happen ever again. We had our day, and we gave it away.
