  2. My 2010 Prius has 271,000 miles on it and I just changed it's hybrid battery a couple of months ago. It lasted 14-15 years and over a quarter of a million miles. I bought the new battery for $2,000 and replaced it myself just by removing some screws and some bolts in the trunk area of the car. The shop where I bought the battery took the old one in as an exchange to rebuild. I could have bought a rebuilt/refurbished battery for half of what I paid. I know full-EV cars are different when it comes to replacing the battery, but this was my experience with my Prius.
