  2. wow, to be in the mid west...:-) if the flats were in maryland, first, they'd probably be a "protected area" and totally off limits to all humans, or at least most definitely all motor driven vehicles. for the slight possibility that they did allow cars onto it, it probably would not be for the general public, but only sanctioned events. but if they did, there of course would be a fee, plus a long list of regulations, what you can and cant do, what equipment you must have/use, etc...
