Hu Yaobang faction was not in control of the military, so his followers got crushed. Faction wars happen within the CCP all the time. They have power struggles and differences in opinions like all politicians have. Sometimes the People do criticize the Party leadership but none of them denounce Communism or Marxism. They are all evil commies. Difference is, some are more evil than others.
