Dang it, just found Ray’s idiot boss shop with this video. Ray, check out CarCareNut and LegitStreetCars, two good YouTube mechanics who went out on their own after starting YT channels.

Ray, I suggest a best of Ray series. Well watch. Keep it going.

@ogbobbye ya, just think what 400K Yelp reviews could do to that shop. Hmm, maybe I will list it here.

Ya, but not fluent in Toyota. Toyotas don’t give him near as much practice.

@gorkumyuksel1763 he is in Sarasota.

Hey Ray. I’m a former SRQ person, and sent your page out on my fb. A friend wants to come to you, how do they?

The shop owner was probably worried you’d take all his biz when you go out on your own. Now you can do it 6-8 weeks ahead of schedule. I imagine too that customers coming in actually had the audacity to be treated with integrity. Would love to know when and where you set up. No longer in SRQ but happy to pass it along.

Hey Ray, you’ve got one of the best design schools on the planet close by. Maybe hire a student or recent alum to do some simple branding and design work on your products. Maybe trade them car work. I would have taken that deal.

@brnmcc01 they have pretty high reviews. No doubt Ray is a great guy, and I have learned so much, but I can’t really say what happened. Was it their ethics? Perhaps. Or was it two business worlds colliding, the business on the ground and Rays social channels? I wouldn’t be surprised if he was a little too ethical and principled. Maybe the local dealers were starting to bring pressure. Hard to say for sure. No doubt If I was still there, I would go to him. I’ve tried to send friends, but never could find him until now. Pity.

I have a Lexus LS and there are many days I would trade it in for my old 76 bug. Of course, like many others, it succumbed to the floored based natural air condition system, or considering I had it in Florida, the floor based using puddle to wash out the inside of my car, and me, system.

It would prob start on fire.

Just starting to get addicted to repair channels. Good to see Ray is an SRQ boy. Who is Eric?
2
After watching 15 minutes, I’m counting all the parts I would forget where they go.
2
Ray, you should start a greatest hits series. I’d watch.

Ah, Sarasota life in the summer.

Ray, still wish I was in SRQ area to support you. Years ago, living in another state, my mechanics were two brothers who had a lot of integrity. They went for a small shop to a booming garage, all word of mouth. It was so good that when I was leaving the state and took in my car a final thing, I handed them a signed blank check. They trust me enough to leave the keys hidden in the car and drove thousands of miles away before they ever could have known if the check was good or if i left enough money in the account (it was and I did). That was decades ago and never found anything near as good. On the other hand, it got me into DIY on minor stuff and learning from you.

Ian has some serious torque. It makes a loud CLICK.
