  3.  @stumblingmumbler  progressives aren’t winning seats. It is WHY they are tiny. If you lose the independents, YOU lose. No doubt MAGA is doing everything to push people left, and progressives are doing everything to push people right. I am an idealist by nature, but too old to buy pie in the sky crap. Here is some reality. In West Virginia, 3 types of people can win. Liberal Republicans, moderate Republicans, and conservative republicans. So, your options in WV are you can have a Republican Senator, and the majority goes over to Mitch, and not only will you not get your pipe dream progressive stuff, but you will get NOTHING through, and start regressing 50 years. Or you can have Manchin, deal with it until you flip seats in places like Wisconsin, etc. instead, you act like spoiled brats, destroy the Biden presidency, and guarantee that the house and senate will be lost, and you’re probably looking at President DeSantis in two years because you ran off the whole Hispanic vote, or big part of it, and the moderate white blue collar vote, because they lost the decent paying jobs that have been in their families because they are now held by illegal immigrants that came through an open border. And guess what? Know who loves that cheap immigrant labor? Corporations.

One of the most effective, if not the most effective programs in the country was created in eastern Kentucky by a Republican congressman. This is possible when you work WITH people, not treat everyone like their Hitler.

However, ya, I grant that the middle Democrat became corporatist starting with Clinton, and a lot of Bernie’s and AOC criticisms are dead on, and most people have no idea that the AOC Green Deal actually comes from an economist who is trusted by corporate CEOs, but as a matter of policy and wokist bullshit, they go off the rails and push independents, the people who decide elections, to the right, which is going to happen again in November.

  7. Let me give you an explicit example. I live in a lightly leaning blue suburb that used to be red. Well, a minor incident happened with a black kid and a cop. The cop was wrong but it was pretty minor. So, BLM shows up for a protest. People had no prob with them holding a protest a the police station. But then, they go on to the interstate and shut it down. This portion of the interstate has the exits to the ONLY major hospital in this part of town serving a couple hundred thousand people. Then, they started vandalizing a shopping center and burned down two banks. Some of the small business had to go out of business because they couldn’t afford to start up again. So, no, what do the progressives do? They explain that the protestors and rioters had justification to endanger lives, for real, because they might be dying in an ambulance, because blacks faced unknown dangers, too. Guess what. This suburb will probably be red for generations now. Fuck em.
