And the Russians hate him for it to this day... That's why I agree with you that there is a big chance that Russia will turn into another North Korea.

  4. In 1987 USSR was allready colapsing... and one of the most important reasons for it was in Kyiv Oblast -> 27 April 1986... Polish geopolitical analyst Stanisław Michalkiewicz stated that he knew that the USSR was dead after he read in newspapers that the very first rescue team that came to help people in collapsed buildings during the december 7, 1988 Armenian SSR earthquake was a rescue team not from the USSR, but from the Netherlands...

  6. You forgot to mention Soviet Union problem in Ukraine that was as, if not more important for Soviet Union colapse than oil price -> 27 April 1986 aka Chernobyl and gigantic effort made to clean it up by 600 000 of people forced to be there and most likely get sicks from it...

  7. Slavs go to the forest to pick mushrooms and berries for fun... Slavs have done it since ancient times(and most Polish forests belong to the Polish state so people are allowed to do it if they feel like it-> contrary to Norway where Police is hunting slavic people for it...). Dumplings with mushrooms -> mainly eaten at Christmas, so probably few people in the West have heard of them but in Poland everyone associates them with Christmas and you need mushrooms from the forest to make them-> bay boletes and porcini mushrooms. Bigos without forest mushrooms is also not real bigos and its Polish national dish... I feel sorry for you when I think how many dishes with mushrooms from the Polish forest you have never eaten...🙃

  8. Alcohol sold locally did not generate any profits... it only generated losses(Who do you know who benefited from becoming an alcoholic?)... so Gorbachev decided to eliminate this problem. The final nail in the coffin was the cleanup after Chernobyl, 600,000 people were forced to do it, the enormous costs plus the diseases whose existence they still hide(to not pay the victims and their families)...
