Seriously." because even something as simple as production of rivets was a hard task for central planed economy and whole huge projects were stoping to full STOP because there was no way to produce/deliver rivets... There is even an example of that in book "Behind the Urals: An American Worker in Russia's City of Steel" by John Scott, Factories in USSR were build by American companies with help of American engineers but Soviet engineer could not explain(or even inform) its American coworkers that Amazing USSR is unable to push that project forward because of rivets or in that case lack of them. There is exactly this type of situation described in that book and Russian guy was doing everything to not tell the truth and in the same time he was already sentenced for sabotage(as people above him would not admit that they failed -> ofc that the project is not finished because of some evil sabotage by some hostile to communism indidual -> all executives in the end were ending badly(no matter what). Also i would not believe that this "engineering degrees" were earned by hard work/education -> guy that was examing this people could try to not give them a pass from any subject but that would most likely not end up well for him... John Scott gonna give you much nicer inside into the situation than official sources that were used for creation of well prospering country. And all the official reports about growth that are the author of the video was happy to repeat were exagerated -> you need to cut that numbers by half(at least)...

Approximately 30 units were claimed to be produced. All units shipped to M.B. Metals were returned for service. Due to friction resulting from competition with Elwro, a government-backed competitor, the production of K-202 was blocked and Karpiński thrown out of his company under the allegations of sabotage and embezzlement." The reality was that Karpiński computer was killed because it was not a Soviet as all people in Poland were forced to believe that Communist Russia is supperior in every aspect because she is communist... plus the fact that Russians hate Polish as we are the reason why they have independence day equivalent. K-202 was many times cheaper and it was faster than desktop IBM computers introduced by IBM 10 years later... One of the K-202 was operating information systems on a big train station in Poland until XXI century and it was able to do that 24/7 with no hardware problems->so the claim that the computers were unreliable was a lie. West was thinking that it is iffy because it is communist and Moscow was thinking that it is iffy because it was Polish... I read a comment from some scientist that got visitor back in the old days from Moscow and that person was talking about K-202 to that Russian visitor and telling him how advanced this computer is and what it can do. Russian responce was that: Computer so advanced do not exist. So the person said to him that it can take it to lab near by where one of the K-202 is working. Russian responded with: Computer like that does not exist!

  44. As a Polish person i am so amazed about ammount of Russian/Soviet propaganda in this video... Poland was dependent on the Soviet energy supply?! HAHA Poland was one of the biggest producers of coal and many in central Europe were producing it. Soviet was for many years buying it from Poland for 10% of the real market price and calling it "war reparations from Germany" as they made deal with Western Allies that reparations for Poland will be going from East Germany via USSR(that is why Polish government officialy said that they do not want any more reparations from Germany as there was no momen to even pay the miners for the job and no energy in country as USSR was sucking it out of Poland...). That also took all the Uran that Poland got and did not paid for it or informed miners about health risks during this work... Number of cars in Poland was very small and yet fuel was rationed and for many years government was giving special bons for fuel and withut it you were not able to buy fuel for your car... This video is nice continuation of previous one where you forgot to mention significance of Polish scientists in Building Soviet Oil industry... Witold Zglenicki->"Witold Zglenicki was not only an explorer of rich oil pools in the Caucasus but also a pioneer of oil extracting from the bottom of the sea. He directed the early development of the oil industry of the port of Baku in Russian Azerbaijan. He also sponsored a foundation for the development of Polish culture and science which brought him the reputation as the "Polish Nobel". "

  84. Heh, this whole video is based on official Soviet economical reports that are obviously a lie... Soviet Union not only was stealing from everyone inside its borders but also from eveyone that they could. So for example one of first thing that they did was decision to not pay any Russian debt as they claimed that Soviet Union have nothing to do with Russia but somehow you are telling us that it was a continuation->so if you are clearly not buying that lie why you are buying every other lie? For example during holodomor in Ukraine Soviet Union instead of providing food for everyone they only created special shops with food but you were not able to buy there with normal curency(ruble)->only with gold, silver, jewellery and gemstones... they were simply stealing from Soviet citizens before they allowed them to die from starvation and this shops were making sure that they not gonna leave any valuable items hiden somewhere from Bolshevik hands... Best example how you have no idea what you are talking about is fact that you talking here that this hunger pushed people out of vilages into cities-> there was no posibility to do something like that in Soviet Union everyone got special internal passport and people from vilages were not allowed to go into city without permision, in big city like Moscow you were not allowed to go to other parts of the city, only part of the city asigned to you in your papers... Without this how the hell do you think they managed to starve to death all that people in Ukraine? People when they are starving gonna do everything to survive, why do you think they did not left Ukraine as only small part of USSR where out of food?! Not to mention that you failing to explain how this lack of food was artificialy created... Whole economy was based on millions of slave workers from gulags and there is zero info about it in your video. Watch on youtube video: "American Socialist Discovers Harsh Reality of Life in Soviet Union (1933-37) // "Behind the Urals" " maybe it will be able to open your eyes->but i doubt it as it is clear that you like to believe in that Soviet propaganda. Communism failed in every country where this system was tested(with and without oil) and i am from Poland and saw on my own eyes empty shells and shortage of food->in country that for many centuries were providing food for half of Europe and most of it was produced in Ukraine as they have the best soil for food production->(rus. Чернозёмы/pol. czernoziem/eng. chernozem). You can also see it, just search in google "puste półki w PRL"=>"empty shelves in the Polish People's Republic "

  96. @agapp11able "are you telling me Communism didnt work?" Yes, it was a failure of unbelivable proportions and was tested many times with many forms and all the time with the same result. "the USSR had the second largest economy" They were sucking resources out of satelite countries and presenting fake reports about absolutly everything. People were standing in massive line for toilet papper all the time in communist Europe. Starving to death after private farms were changed to state farms... In 1991 every state that was part of USSR wanted to abandon this idea and 2.5 millions of people were released from mental institutions where they were treated because they thought communism was not the best... Every time when new 5 year plan to fix everything failed there was some scapegoats to blame for the another failure of communism or some people were accused of spying/sabotage. Your idea that lack of computing power is to blame is just silly. In communist country there is shortage of everything, even water is often not flowing from the tap! Go into google image search and put there "kartki żywnościowe"(food stamps) and then write into google translate every item name that you gonna find on the food stamps and you gonna learn what basic food products were too much for communist Poland(and Poland was only partialy communist because farmers were owning the land!-> but state was taking that food and selling to the west to earn some western money and buy wester products and technologies for it.).
