@chrisstucker1813 For honor... Nothing new for Polish soldiers. That's why they were the only Allied units on the Western Front that were wining battles even when enemmy got numerical superiority.

Only to untrained eye... There was no massacre like that at Hill 262 in the entire war, because neither side fought as fiercely, and the Germans did not fight as mindlessly as the Russians do.

Maczek... there is ZERO comparison if you actualy care to folow his battle road and all the battles that he won in this war -> without single loss even when he got infront of him situations like the one here on hill 262 -> That was literally an imposible task for Polish forces and he managed to save this whole opertion only thanks to enormous Polish sacrifice, and Mounty, as usual, did it as if the lives of Poles not only did not concern him but he even counted on them not being there at the end of the battle... -> without the control of this hill, all German forces would be able to evacuate with minimal losses.

The trap was closed by the Poles, and then the Canadians had to fight harder than the others to keep that trap closed and notallow Germans to escape... all the rest had units against them that were trying to leave the battlefield, when Poles and Canadians had to deal with units that were actually attacking them and fighting for survivle(in one of the most bloody battles of this war). Your comment shows how poorly explained it was, how difficult this task was... you could easily make a longer film just about the battle for Hill 262 and what a slaughter it was for both sides because halfway through the Poles were left without ammunition and the Canadian relief force was to far to help Poles that were in deep sht after multiple days of super heavy combat.

@martinables The most interesting battle for Hill 262 was presented very briefly, and without this heroic fight of the Poles the trap would not have closed and the Germans would have managed to evacuate. The Canadians also had a harder time supporting the Poles than the others, considering that all the German units were heading there and they fought there much more fiercely than in other directions. Poles are constantly getting this type of imposible task and wining imposible odds with massive losses but providing with it even bigger advantage for their side. Battle of Somosierra is a good example -> kinda oposite to Hill 262, Napoleon forces were blocked and Polish with small force did the imposible and disarmed the trap providing Napoleon with very easy victory considering how well prepared was the defense of this mountain path.
