  1.  @Vector_Ze  No they did not, there was no rocket able to lift 2 stage mission(with lander that was able to get back to Eart) and the 3 stage mission would need computer able to control the trajectory of the lander to go back to the ship on the orbit... Most of the "Moon rocks" distributed to ViPs all over the world are not from Moon... it was not posible to tell that in the 1970 but with modern tools it is. Tape from first landing->destroyed. Space-X rockets with modern komputer and modern algorithms were strugling to land empty rocket for how many months and how many times? All training simulators for Moon landing crashed and idea of using them labeled as too dangerous(because they did not have modern electronics that would made that posible...). But lets forget about last 50 years of IT and that best computer back then was million times weaker than worst PC sold today and programed in time when IT was in its infancy and most of efficient algorithms were unknown to the programers...
